Well who would have thought you’d ever see me wearing a cowboy hat & smiling at the same time!
For years my husband has been visiting Nashville (the home of Country Music) on business & returning with all
manner of silly things and (in my opinion) some ’awful music’ – they always seem to sing about bars, women,
whisky & war!!

So when The IWC announced that the theme for this years Combined Women’s Lunch would be Cow Girls and that there would be a line dancing competition – you can imagine my delight. However, under the inspiring guidance of Kay McKinnon, I joined the BWG line dancing team.

The lunch itself was a huge success and hopefully raised a good sum for the IWC supported charities. The ladies did a great job of organising the event & the ballroom of the Swissotel Nai Lert Park was brilliantly decorated to the Cow Girl theme – they even had a wigwam.

After lunch there was the dreaded line dancing competition. Encouraged by a glass of wine & roasting hot in our hats
& boots, the BWG team really got into the swing of it – the result, great fun & would you believe we won! Kay – thank you, you did a great job of teaching us the steps and encouraging us on. I wouldn’t say I am now a convert to Country Music, but the next time Chris is mumbling along to ‘Whisky Girl’ or ‘I Love This Bar’ – I will smile instead of moan.

Great day – well done girls! These photos tell the story….
