An elegant evening with the Siam Sinfonietta at the Dusit Thani Hotel • June 17
Thailand’s popular young orchestra, the Siam Sinfonietta, invites lovers of music and canapés to a delightful evening of music in the Dusit Hall, Dusit Thani Hotel. Our program centers on the theme of “Sehnsucht” – that powerful, uncontrollable longing that is at the heart of romanticism.
Works on the program include the Overture to Mozart’s “Idomeneo”, the story of a man who must sacrifice his own child to the God Poseidon in exchange for his own salvation; the Unfinished Symphony of Schubert which is the very epitome of romantic longing; some excerpts from Stravinsky’s Pétrouchka; and the erotic and mysterious “Miraculous Mandarin” by Béla Bartók. Somtow Sucharitkul conducts. Some suprising encores are also planned!
Included with your admission to the concert are soft drinks and canapés by the Dusit Thani. Wine will also be avaliable for an extra donation.
Admission to the event is by donation: suggested donation is 1,000 baht with a 500 baht donation for students whether school or university.
