GURKHA CURRY – BISTRO 33 Gale Bailey MBE
During my time in Bangkok, I have been involved with many groups and so it was decided to combine a couple of those – St. George’s Society with Royal British Legion – and hold a Gurkha Curry afternoon at Bistro 33. John Hocking also wears a few hats so he took Sgt Major Harilal Pun MBE to visit the kitchens to make sure all would be OK! This was way back in June but due to folk being away, 28 September was decided.
This was such an easy event to organise with the help of the Gurkhas and the great staff at Bistro – many thanks to Barry Shea, Susan and the lovely female staff at Bistro. Thanks also to sponsors – Bistro 33, Royal Oak, Amari Watergate, Duncan Diaper and ME who donated a bottle of Baileys (what else?) to the raffle! Thanks also to Liz Dobson and her lovely niece for selling raffle tickets and to Jane Rodgers for ensuring everyone paid!
DIARY DATE – there will be another Gurkha Curry event on Saturday, 11 January organised by the Bangkok St. George’s Society and RBL – ALL WELCOME! More details to follow!
