Dear Friends of the young people with disabilities in Pakkret,
After a quiet but pleasant summer, SaiLom is ready to invite you to join our day trips until the end of the year. SaiLom supports young people, ages 15-40 years old, who live with disabilities at the large government homes, to participate more in the community. Our monthly day trips are an enjoyable time for the youth who are invited to come.
Often the day trips happen on the last Thursday of the month. If you or someone you know, is interested in joining us please let me know.
Thanks for being involved in the past! Lots of good memories are made every trip.
Here is our schedule for the next 3 months:
September 29th 12:00-3.00pm is a half day of shopping at Big C Extra Chaengwattana. If you can come and help the young men with shopping or playing a game let me know. We have rented a van in order to take 8 young men out. Two of them use a wheelchair. We’ll be celebrating belated birthdays.
Our next monthly trip is to the Children’s Discovery Museum, 9am-2:30pm on Thursday October 27th 2016. Please let me know by Friday September 21st if you can come or provide a vehicle for us to use for the day. firstname.lastname@example.org
By popular demand: Thursday November 24 2016 Suan Rot Fai (The train park in Jatujak Market area. Bikers and walkers enjoy this day out.)
These outings are a joy for the young people who are able to participate. The more people we have to partner with the youth, the more children we are able to take out.It is helpful to know the numbers of partners we have early so we can write letters of permission to take the children off the grounds of the Homes. If you sign up, I’ll send you an email with more details at the beginning of the week of the outing.
Besides our monthly outings on Thursday’s or Saturday’s, we are also looking for volunteers who could come once a week for several weeks in a row to help with cooking class on Tuesday mornings at Ban Rajawadee or craft preparation, baking, or English class at SaiLom house in the community on Friday’s.
Thanks for reading to the end! We hope to hear from you!
